Ferdi rizkiyanto1/3/2024 ![]() The author has the intention of showing the world that trash really does lie on the bottom of our oceans. In Rizkiyanto’s work, “Just because you can’t see it, doesn't mean it isn’t there” (June 14th, 2011), an emotional ad campaign image, there are many strategic techniques used to develop his thesis. This image asserts that, although it is not commonly known, there is an extremely sad problem in which plastic waste, from human consumption, lies on the bottom of the ocean. He then used graphic design techniques to make it look as though a young boy is lifting up a shoreline to reveal the trash that lies underneath. Rizkiyanto took a simple photograph of a sandy surface from “royalty free stock photos”. In order to raise awareness of the problems related to plastic waste, Advertisers Without Borders’ art director and digital artist, Ferdi Rizkiyanto, known as Pepey, from Jakarta, Indonesia, created a captivating visual image.
